A rant;
Folks without craft or experience but a lot of thought leadership-y posts, who offer mentorship opportunities to early career designers for a fee…
To the jr. designer out there, don't let them prey on your imposter syndrome and self-doubt. The real mentors you'll find in your life and career are there to help you as partners and friends, not to make a living off of what you don't know.
When I joined the field there were so many kind and empathetic voices. They felt easy to find and exciting as someone new to join. Today it's hard to get through the noise and timeline to see what's really there. Maybe I'm on the wrong corner of the internet or looking in the wrong places.
